We know you think you know our culture. But you don’t know the half of it.

And that’s still not even the half of it.

Look at those colors! I’ve been to Mexico, but I only went to the touristy part of the Yucatan where I stayed at an all inclusive where I could get any kind of food but Mexican.

Needless to say, I’d like to go back some day…

A MEXICO POST????

ON TUMBLR??

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I would like the Yucatan and Veracruz dress designers to please craft clothing lines that reference the culture without appropriating it, because those garments were exquisitely made.

The Ancient Babylonians knew about a form of trigonometry more advanced than the modern-day version – about 1,000 years before its supposed invention by the Ancient Greeks, academics in Australia say.

The astonishing claim is based on a 3,700-year-old clay tablet inscribed with a table of numbers.

Known as Plimpton 322, it is already known to contain evidence that the Babylonians knew Pythagoras’ famous equation for right-angled triangles, long before the Greek philosopher gave his name to it.

And researchers at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) have claimed it also shows the Babylonians developed a highly sophisticated form of trigonometry – the system of maths used to describe angles that has tortured generations of school pupils with sine, cosine and tangent.

This is nonsense. All this demonstrates is that they knew how to establish side/angle ratios based upon measurements. It doesn’t determine that they had the Theorum that correlates all the measurements, i.e. Pythagoras’s theorum.

For that matter, base 60 is not any better than base 10! What the devil. Who are the “scientists” who established this had merit?

This is a blatant misrepresentation of fact.

I dreamt that you and Molly Anne were camping in the prairie in front of my house. I offered you a tarp to keep the rain off, but you said it would block your view of the stars. The next day, you were both mad at me because your camping gear got waterlogged. Then, unrelatedly, whales destroyed the Earth.

*chuckles*

“Unrelatedly, whales destroyed the earth” is possibly the best phrase I’ve ever heard in the language. It sounds like a charming dream. Although I can point out the discrepancies as compared to my actual character. Firstly, I would never be unprepared and require a tarp. Secondly, I would never be so rude as to be angry with you upon that point. In fact, I’d likely have brought extra camping gear and invited you to join us. I’d treat you to a traditional home cooked campfire meal, courtesy of my time traveling through Nevada with the caravan of Chinese rail workers en route to Virginia City!

Fan art submissions

As I mentioned before, My agency and new print publisher would like to create a digital profile for the Cookbook to help promote the publication. This would contain anything that can be displayed in a digital way, from art, to “epic” photographs of your Pocket Simon’s™, to your fan fictions. Anything digital, and as far as I know there are no criteria as yet.

If you have something to contribute, please email a copy of it to me at lonecreature @ gmail. With the subject Fuse Box Submission.

There’s no real deadline. And I will hand out gifts to any of you who also wish to attach your mailing address to the submission!
