haha yes i asked about “ye” bc i recently learned it was pronounced like “the” originally with some letter like a b and a p combined that was called the thorn letter perhaps?

If you type that into a search of my blog, you’ll likely find the several times I’ve discussed it. Really, the letter in script looked something like a very ornate “y” which is how the mixup began. And then actually…it did end up being said “ye” instead of “the” when a dialectical shift took place. Which is why I asked which time period the speaker was in. Let me see if I can find the post i recently made about it. If I am able, I shall put the link in a reblog

Here’s one I found, but it isn’t the one I am discussing. https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/youcantseebutimmakingaface/154217277428

Hey there Simon, I hope the day’s treating you well. I tried your hot toddy recipe last night, which I fully recommend everyone trying even if you aren’t trying to alleviate a cold. I was wondering about making the tea/honey syrup ahead of time to have on hand. How would you say to store it and for how long?

Honey is naturally anti-microbial, and so what I would recommend is that you make it slightly differently. Make the strong tea and reduce it, then let cool. Mix that with raw honey at room temp. Store it in a container in the ice box, and it will likely last a long while. When you want to make a hot toddy, just heat the honey mixture in an individual serving. The reason I say this is because heating honey pasteurizes it, denatures proteins, and so changes its natural chemical composition, which changes how it ages on the shelf. However, if you wish to simply do it as I have it written in the recipe and then store that in the ice box, that is fine also, except that it will not last as long, I reckon.

There
is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been.
The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding
its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false
notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your
knowledge.”

Well then, let me show you, because that’s what I do for a living.

Right now, it’s this time of the year, and the little ones have just freshly hatched:

You’ll notice they’re still blind and naked when they hatch. So I make them little coats to keep them warm during their first winter:

See how they happily line up to put them on:

See? Better. Now they’re ready to go and explore the world.

And if they make it through the winter and we take good care of them, they will grow up to be strong and wise like their older fellows:

So, in case you were ever wondering, now you know.

As a Publishing Professional I can say that this is 10000% accurate, and I am a little concerned you’re just giving away all of our industry secrets on Tumblr.

I am a famousy awards-winning author of BOOKS and I endorse this post.

I am literally crying from how cute this is

And what do they eat?

Paper scraps and drops of ink, of course.

Are you sure they don’t eat hearts and minds?

Paper and ink are staples, but they do need hearts and minds to grow robust and truly strong.

Certain species of spider pop out of the egg sacks and consume each other until there is but one large spider capable of building a web large enough to trap a bird. I wonder if they’re cannibals.

what timeline is this

The one in which someone is working to demystify andestigmatize sex and decriminalize sex work. Good for them.

I would make the argument that Pornhub is trying to help it’s own image. They’re far from an ethical company- quite a bit of their content is stolen, so the actual sex workers see 0 pay for it. But they want us to ignore this, so like any unethical company they throw money at charity and have publicity stunts.

And yet, many people wherever that was, were able to get out of their homes and drive to work that day. Actors in productions are paid a salary or a contracted amount for their participation in a film. This payment is a “one off” and so they could expect to make no more from  it’s showing, whether or not that work is stolen. It is the production company who loses money on productions being pirated. They aren’t any less ethical than Youtube, and yet i don’t see youtube out there with snowplows helping people keep their jobs.

I don’t generally like throwing articles at people and running, but I think this piece explains the issue better than I can:

https://www.dailydot.com/irl/pornhub-controversy-avn-awards/

Again, that harms the production companies. And honestly, if they want something done about it they need to go to politicians and demand such things are adequately policed and enforced., just as Hollywood studios do.

There is little evidence that pornhub actually used the snowplows like they advertised. It was all just an advert for publicity; plowing Boston

That i cannot argue. Most good deeds are publicity stunts.

like.. i get this, but I’ve never seen any of y’all complain about literally anything else being pirated and torrented, so why is porn the exception?
