It doesn’t matter how often I tell people that bumblebees sting, they will still forever claim that they bite, or say something like “Well, then they both sting and bite”
No, they sting. They just don’t leave the stinger in the wounds like honey bees, so they can sting multiple times.
The reason why I’m so passionate about this is because you can be allergic to them, and if people think bumblebees just bite they might not seek treatment.

Female bumblebees can sting repeatedly, but generally ignore humans and other animals.
