Yes. You can google the number of absentee balot scandals that there have been. Sometimes it’s finding ways to disqualify ballots–I think it was Georgia that just passed a law saying that if your signature looks different, they can toss your ballot–and sometimes it’s simply tossed out, as was the case in the last presidential election.

Check by googling your state’s name with something like “absentee ballot” or some such
